PRIBILOF VISIT
In January, Dustin and I had a week on the Pribilof Islands. We had one day at St Paul, then flew over to St George to visit Karin Holser. It was an incredible experience. We were there for the Russian Orthodox Christmas. Lots of snow and good skiing. Cold, harsh and wild weather. Good friendships and island welcome. Lots of winter wildlife...foxes, snowy owls, king eider, harlequins, long-tailed ducks, snow buntings and rosy finches.

"Starring" happens after Christmas. Groups of people go from house to house carrying an ornate star and singing carols while the star is spun in front of the houshold's icons. Starring echoes the role the star plays in leading the Wise Men to Jesus.
