Elizabeth (she introduced Dustin and I last spring!)

Wedding Quilt!
Gail hosted an evening quilting shower.... Four sewing machines going, champagne, chocolate cake and an incredible feeling of love. THANK YOU. Fairly overwhelming to see images from family and friends afar.. even Alisa, Mike and Elias (in their summer clothes!). And, incredible how much time and dedication this is taking from our friends. Mette, Max-- thank you for the beautiful flowers (you can see them in the photo below).

Gail and Jerry have a wonderful quilting room downstairs. Here's Melanie, Dena, and Rick

Gail is also making a wedding shawl to go over my wedding dress, here it is pieced out on the wall. It looks like an elf designed it.
I have just returned from a few days on Bogoslof. Checking out the island for next year and deploying some geolocators on kittiwakes and murres
We were taken out on the Tiglax, we stayed aboard each night and had three days on the island
Dutch Harbour
Exploring some of the war bunkers at Dutch

Saltene cracker eating contest..
Bogoslof is a volcanic island, here is the Dome (covered now in birds)
The island edge is covered in breeding fur seals, and a fair number of stellars sealions
Beach landing spot
Captain Billy Pepper

We moved into our new home.
Feels wonderful.. slowly unpacking and making home together
Gail, Jerry and Margaret helped move us, and with Tracy and Tony's van we did most of the move in two runs. Tracy and Tony bought round pizza that night and we sat in the new garden. THANKS everyone, it meant such alot having your help.

welcome home pizza picnic

We had 2 days painting before we moved in.. painted lounge, dining room and bedroom

Sarah came and painted for a day-- a wonderful help, thank you

Dustin and I had a 4 day trip-- to McCarthy and fishing at Chitina

We stayed the night at Geoff's place in McCarthy.. and biked the next night to Kennicot

It was our first dipnetting venture on the Chitina.. and it was a learning experience. We fished through the night... and only caught 4 fish. Great landscape though.. a wonderful experience
